To reach the northern land they must outwit many terrifying people and creatures, but are helped by the Keys of Wisdom and many wise strangers. Along the way they realise that each of them has unusual strengths, but also weaknesses that place the group in danger, and unless they can overcome these and work together, they have no hope of fulfilling the prophecy.
